Process

From brand name to Brand Registry

Four steps, mostly ours. You answer a short questionnaire and approve the plan; we handle the rest.

  1. 1

    Readiness check

Tell us your brand name, how it appears on your packaging and listings, and what you sell. We confirm what Brand Registry will want to see.

  2. 2

    Search and class plan

We check the Canadian register for conflicts and map your products to the right Nice classes so the application actually covers your catalogue.

  3. 3

    Agent-prepared filing

Our team drafts and files the application with CIPO. You receive the application number the same day it is filed.

  4. 4

    Enrol and enforce

Use the pending application to enrol in Brand Registry. White-glove clients get help with the enrolment itself and a guide to the enforcement tools.

FAQ

Seller questions, straight answers

Do I need a registered trademark for Amazon Brand Registry?
Amazon generally accepts a pending application from a recognized IP office, including CIPO, for enrolment in Brand Registry. Requirements can change and vary by marketplace, so we confirm the current rules as part of your readiness check.
How is this different from Amazon's IP Accelerator?
IP Accelerator connects sellers to a panel of firms at capped fees. Our Accelerator path is priced to be competitive with that, and our White-glove Path adds the strategy, class planning and follow-through that a bare filing does not. Either way you work with a Canadian trademark team that answers your emails.
Word mark or logo?
For most sellers the word mark is the stronger enforcement tool, because it protects the name however it is styled. If your logo is distinctive and central to the brand we may recommend both. The readiness check tells you which.
How many classes do I need?
One class per category of goods, roughly. A single-product brand often needs one. A brand with supplements, apparel and accessories may need three. Accelerator covers up to two; we quote extra classes at a flat rate, plus CIPO's per-class fee.
What about the United States or other markets?
We focus on the Canadian register. If you sell in multiple countries we will tell you plainly what a Canadian filing does and does not cover, and can co-ordinate with your counsel elsewhere.
How fast can I enrol?
You can typically use the application number for Brand Registry enrolment shortly after filing. Filing itself takes days once we have your details. Full registration in Canada takes considerably longer, but Brand Registry does not require you to wait for it.

Every week without Brand Registry is a week copycats get for free.

Send us your brand name and what you sell. You will have a readiness check, a recommended path and a fixed-fee quote within one business day.
