Monitoring questions

Why do I need monitoring if my mark is registered?
CIPO does not tell you when someone files something similar. Registration gives you the right to object, but only if you know about it. The opposition window after a mark is advertised is short, and once it closes your options get slower and more expensive.
What counts as a hit?
New applications that are identical or confusingly similar to your mark in related goods and services. On Basic you receive the raw alerts. On Pro and above, our team reviews each hit and tells you whether it is noise, worth watching, or worth acting on.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Watch is month to month with no minimum term. Cancel by email at any time and monitoring stops at the end of the paid month.
What does the Marketplace tier actually scan?
Brand names and storefronts on Amazon.ca and Shopify-hosted stores that resemble yours, plus sellers listing under your brand who are not authorized. Alerts are formatted so you can act on them in Brand Registry.
I am a law firm or agent with Canadian marks on my books. Is there a portfolio option?
Yes. Agency Watch covers portfolios for firms and agents who want Canadian triage without adding headcount. It is quote-based depending on portfolio size.
